Zach Mettenberger Expects to Start in 2015

Rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger said Wednesday that he believes he has shown enough in the seven games he played in to be the Tennessee Titans quarterback for 2015.

Mettenberger, who is likely out for the season after re-injuring his right shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants, said he believes he has given the Titans reason enough to go forward with him as the starter.

“I believe I’ve shown them enough. … I’m confident in my abilities in what I’ve put on the field and put on tape. I think I’ve show the ownership and Ruston (Webster), the GM, and the staff that I can play at a high level and that I’m gonna continue to get better,” Mettenberger said.

Mettenberger said he has gotten positive feedback from Coach Ken Whisenhunt and the staff. On Monday, Whisenhunt said a full evaluation would come after the season on the quarterback situation.
