Whisenhunt: QB Locker injured right wrist
Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker underwent tests Monday to determine the severity of his right wrist injury, head coach Ken Whisenhunt said.
Results were expected Tuesday, as the Titans begin preparations for their Week 4 game with the Indianapolis Colts.
Whisenhunt said Locker would have struggled to grip the ball had Sunday’s 33-7 loss at Cincinnati gone any longer.
The injury to his throwing arm could explain another inconsistent outing from the quarterback, who is in a make-or-break contract year with the Titans.
Locker went 17 of 34 for 185 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Locker now has three touchdowns and four interceptions in three games for Tennessee (1-2).
“We haven’t played well enough to win football games offensively … It starts with me missing throws,” said Locker.
