Which NFL Coaches Seat Is Hottest for 2015?- Part I- Who Has Security
Find out which head coaches are the most safe in their current jobs entering 2015.
We know that there are numerous coaching changes in the NFL each offseason. Although we don’t know exactly which teams will flop, we do have an idea of which coaches need to be successful to hold on to their jobs.
We will rank which coaches seats are the hottest entering the 2015 season.
Our first volume features the “safest” coaches for this year and why.
- John Harbaugh– Not only has Harbaugh led the Ravens to the playoffs every year but one since he’s been there, he’s also won a playoff game every year he’s been in the tournament. Harbaugh is one of the elite head coaches in football, even if he’s often overlooked in favor of his brother. The Ravens could go 0-16 and Harbaugh would still have plenty of job security, therefore he’s the most secure coach in the NFL.
- Bill Belichick– Belichick is unquestionably the best coach in the NFL, and he’s also the guy that makes the personnel decisions. He didn’t need to win Super Bowl XLIX to have job security, but another ring never hurts. The only reason Belichick isn’t at the top of this list is because of the Patriots numerous cheating scandals. If there was one more scandal his job would almost certainly come into question.
- Pete Carroll- Pete Carroll has led the Seahawks franchise to new heights and with Russell Wilson clearly entering his prime there’s no reason to believe that Seattle’s success will end anytime soon. Carroll has created a great, friendly culture of winning in the Great Northwest. After two consecutive Super Bowl appearances, the only thing that could put Carroll in the frying pan could be a total flop by the team with some of their questionable character draft picks getting into more legal trouble.
- Bruce Arians- With all apologies to Ken Whisenhunt, Bruce Arians is the best head coach in the history of the Arizona Cardinals. There’s no coach that does more with less than Arians, and he’s quickly brought a culture of winning to the desert. With no legitimate answer at quarterback for the long term, expectations are tempered in Arizona and Arians will be considered as an overachiever if he can simply keep the team competitive. His early winning will buy him extra time if Carson Palmer goes down again.
- Gary Kubiak- Unlike the four men ahead of him, Gary Kubiak does not have a great winning tradition as a head coach. What Kubiak does have is a very close friend as his boss in John Elway, and there’s virtually no way that he will be a one-and-done in Denver, regardless of how the season turns out. Kubiak is armed with a fading, yet still Hall of Fame level quarterback in Peyton Manning and despite the loss of left tackle Ryan Clady, Manning does not take many hits and will likely be healthy. With Manning on the field even in his lessened state, it’s likely that the Broncos will be at the very least a playoff contender.
