Week 14 NFL Quarterback Rankings – Who Has The Best Matchups
Find out which quarterbacks have the best matchups for Week 14.
We’ve reached the final stretch of the regular season, which means it’s crunch time for quarterbacks all across the league. It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re trying to position your team for a better playoff seed, just trying to make the playoffs or if you’re playing for your individual future.
The only thing that matters is that every quarterback is playing for something valuable. With that said, let’s take a look at my quarterback rankings for Week 14.
1. Tom Brady @ Texans – The great Tom Brady is coming off his first multi-interception game of the season, which means his focus is going to be on another level in Houston this Sunday.
2. Aaron Rodgers vs. Cowboys – Over the past few weeks, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense has looked mediocre, but following Rodgers’ epic hail mary in Detroit, things are looking to go back to normal in Green Bay.
3. Carson Palmer vs. Vikings – Consistency is the primary term to describe Palmer’s play this year. He’s completed over 60 percent of his passes in every game except for one and he’s totaled a quarterback rating of over 100 in every game except four.
4. Cam Newton vs. Falcons – During the past three weeks, Newton has two five touchdown games. Is he the MVP right now?
5. Russell Wilson @ Ravens – I dare you to find a hotter quarterback over the past three weeks. During that time frame, Wilson has thrown 11 touchdowns and no picks, while completing at least 70 percent of his passes in each of those three games.
6. Andy Dalton vs. Steelers – Dalton is coming off the best two-game stretch of his season. He’s completed 74.1 and 73.7 percent of his passes in the last two games respectively. With one of the worst pass defenses coming to town, expect more of the same from Dalton.
7. Blake Bortles vs. Colts – Fresh off the best game of his young career, where he totaled five touchdowns on 24 of 36 passing, Bortles should be able to find success against Indy’s secondary. He probably won’t throw five touchdowns, but it should be a good Sunday.
8. Tyrod Taylor @ Eagles – The past two weeks, Taylor has totaled seven touchdowns (one rushing), while throwing no picks.
9. Ben Roethlisberger @ Bengals – This past Sunday was a vintage Big Ben performance. The 33-year-old tossed four touchdowns on 24 of 39 passing for 364 yards. Breaking Cincy’s defense will be a tall order, but Roethlisberger looks to have his rhythm back.
10. Jameis Winston vs. Saints – With Tampa Bay still in the playoff hunt, the Saints defense is a welcomed sight for Winston and company.
11. Eli Manning @ Dolphins – The veteran has struggled recently, but facing one of the worst pass defenses in the league should help get Manning back on track.
12. Drew Brees @ Buccaneers – This has been an up and down season for Brees, but it’s been a little more up than down. Last week, he showed what he’s still capable of after tossing three touchdowns against Carolina.
13. Matthew Stafford @ Rams – The Rams defense is very difficult, however Stafford is playing his best ball of the season right now. He’s thrown seven touchdowns over the past two games.
14. Alex Smith vs. Chargers – It’s truly remarkable that Smith hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 3. Sure, his touchdown numbers aren’t all that impressive, but he takes care of the ball and he’s been very accurate of late.
15. Kirk Cousins @ Bears – Turnovers were a big problem for him early on, but Cousins has proven he’s capable of taking care of the football as of late. Over the past six games, he’s only thrown two interceptions.
16. Marcus Mariota @ Jets – When it comes to efficiency, Mariota had one of his best games last week. He completed 20 of 29 passes, for 268 yards, with three touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 118.2 and ran for 112 yards and another touchdown.
17. Jay Cutler vs. Redskins – This is one of those weird matchups that could end up being a shootout or a low scoring affair, but I’m going with the latter.
18. Brock Osweiler vs. Raiders – Ever since being inserted into the starting lineup, the Denver Broncos offense has been given life. Osweiler is 3-0 as the starter.
19. Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Titans – He’s taken full advantage of two of the worst pass defenses in the past two weeks (Dolphins and Giants), throwing six touchdowns with no interceptions combined. Things will look different against Tennessee.
20. Sam Bradford vs. Bills – Who would’ve thought he would outplay Tom Brady? Probably no one, but what are the odds of Bradford stringing together two good performances in a row?
21. Derek Carr @ Broncos – The sophomore quarterback had a game to forget against Kansas City, as he threw three interceptions and unfortunately things won’t get any easier this week in the Mile High City.
22. Ryan Tannehill vs. Giants – It’s safe to say Tannehill has been one of the most disappointing quarterbacks this season. At this point, he and Miami are just ready to get this season over with.
23. Philip Rivers @ Chiefs – Despite the disappointing season from a team aspect, Rivers has held up his end of the bargain. With that being said, he experienced his worst game of the season against Kansas City. Rivers threw no touchdowns while throwing a pick to go along with his lowest quarterback rating of 65.7.
24. Brian Hoyer vs. Patriots – Unless you’re an elite quarterback, the odds of you performing well against a Bill Belichick coached team that’s lost two in a row are fairly low.
25. Matt Ryan @ Panthers – He’s regressed so much this year and now he has to face Carolina. Good luck, Matty Ice.
26. Teddy Bridgewater @ Cardinals – He’s been nothing more than a game manager and that won’t be changing this week. Minnesota will look for Adrian Peterson to get them going in Arizona.
27. Matt Schaub vs. Seahawks – The question here is, will Matt Schaub throw another pick six?
28. Johnny Manziel vs. 49ers – Social media gets their wish, but will it amount to anything? Seems pretty doubtful.
29. Matt Cassel @ Packers – Green Bay is coming off a very emotional win against Detroit, which doesn’t bode well for Cassel and company.
30. Nick Foles vs. Lions – Let’s just face it, Foles is a very bad quarterback. It doesn’t really matter who he faces.
