Week 13 NFL Picks
Find out which division leaders will be upset on Sunday.
Week 12 was a forgettable one for prognostication, as we fell victim to some upsets and a few of our own upsets didn’t materialize. We’re already off to a better start to this week with the Packers miracle victory, and we hope that will springboard us to success.
New York Jets vs. New York Giants
The pressure is on the Giants as there could be some major changes if they don’t right the ship and win the ultra-weak NFC East. No Darrelle Revis for the Jets should mean a big day passing for Eli and company. Giants 24, Jets 17.
Arizona vs. St. Louis
The Cardinals didn’t look particularly good last week, but still found a way to win. The Rams play all of the division opponents tough and actually beat Arizona on the road earlier this season. Does anyone think Case Keenum is going to have a good day against the Cards? I don’t. Desert Swarm 31, Rams 17.
Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay
The Falcons have been in a major funk after starting the season off 5-0. The Bucs have been pretty competitive of late, although they still don’t play as well at home. It’s tough to envision Atlanta beating anyone these days, especially on the road. Bucs 24, Falcons 20.
Seattle vs. Minnesota
This is the game which could legitimize the Vikings in the eyes of many, as the only team with a winning record that Minnesota has defeated was Atlanta last week. The Seahawks are in position to earn a Wildcard and they’ve played well of late. The Vikings still have to prove they’ll beat a playoff team before we believe. Seahawks 20, Vikings 16.
Houston vs. Buffalo
The Texans have won four straight games and have a share of the lead in the AFC South. The Bills are still an up and down team that has suffered plenty of injuries on defense. This one will probably ugly, but we have to go with the hot team, even if they’re on the road. Texans 23, Bills 17.
Baltimore vs. Miami
The Ravens needed two special teams touchdowns to beat the Cleveland Browns. Although Miami is anything but a good team, they will have enough to take down Matt Schaub. Dolphins 31, Ravens 10.
Cincinnati vs. Cleveland
The Browns are starting Austin Davis at quarterback. The Bengals are closing in on the NFC North title. What do you think is going to happen here? Bengals 24, Browns 13.
Jacksonville vs. Tennessee
The Jaguars have more good players than the Titans do, but they should have lost to Tennessee the last time they played. Marcus Mariota will have a better game, and the Titans will find a way to win. Titans 24, Jags 23.
San Francisco vs. Chicago
The Blaine Gabbert train chugs along to Chicago, with underwhelming stats and losses along the way. The Bears have played solid football of late and Jay Cutler has revived his career. Bears 27, Niners 13.
Denver vs. San Diego
Can Brock Osweiler start his career 3-0? Can the Chargers win two straight games? One is definitely more likely than the other. Broncos 20, Chargers 17.
Kansas City vs. Oakland
The Chiefs are the hottest team in the AFC and the Raiders have struggled over the last month. It’s a week to week league and the Chiefs don’t have Justin Houston in this one. Raiders 24, Chiefs 20.
Carolina vs. New Orleans
The Panthers should have their way with the Saints defense because everyone else does. For some reason it seems like this is a game that’s going to be a lot closer than people believe. Upset special! Saints 31, Panthers 30.
Philadelphia vs. New England
The Eagles look like they’ve quit and they can’t stop anyone on defense. The Pats are coming off their first loss of the season and there’s no reason they should lose a second in a row. Pats 41, Eagles 17.
Indianapolis vs. Pittsburgh
All signs point to Ben Roethlisberger starting for the Steelers. Although the Colts have won three straight, they could have lost two of those games and haven’t been overly impressive. The Steelers should be able to throw all over the Colts secondary. Steel City 38, Horseshoes 24.
Dallas vs. Washington
Although the teams have split the last two seasons, each winning on the road, it’s tough to envision Matt Cassel winning a road game (or any game). The Redskins have confidence and that’s almost better than having talent. ‘Skins 24, Cowboys 13.
