Vinatieri misses first FG of season
NASHVILLE — Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri missed his first field-goal attempt of the season Sunday at LP Field, pulling a 46-yard try with his team holding a 17-7 lead over the Tennessee Titans.
Vinatieri, who made a 23-yard attempt in the first half, made all 28 of his field-goal attempts in the first 15 regular-season games this season with Indianapolis.
Only two players in NFL history completed a season without a miss and at least 20 field-goal attempts: former Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt (37 of 37, 2003) and Gary Anderson (35 of 35, 1998 Minnesota Vikings).
Vinatieri turned 42 Sunday.
