Vikings rule WR Robinson out vs. Broncos
The Sports Xchange
The Minnesota Vikings ruled wide receiver Charles Johnson out for Sunday’s game at the Denver Broncos due to a rib injury. With Jarius Wright questionable due to a hand injury, Adam Thielen and Cordarrelle Patterson could figure heavily into the offensive gameplan.
Wright took part in limited practice Friday.
“These guys have been running the offense a long time,” coach Mike Zimmer said about Wright potentially playing despite limited practice time this week. “They’re smart guys, they know what to do.”
Thielen was in for 28 snaps against San Diego last week while Patterson saw 14 snaps (25 percent) on offense.
“I think he’s been doing a good job all along, he just has to go out there and do it,” Zimmer said of Patterson. “There could be some opportunities for his this week. We’ll see.”
Cornerback Xavier Rhodes (concussion) practiced again Friday and is listed as probable.
Cornerback Jabari Price (shoulder), safety Andrew Sendejo (knee) and defensive end Justin Trattou (foot) will not play, while linebacker Audi Cole is questionable with a sprained ankle.
–Zimmer said he does not plan to change anything on game day to compensate for the higher altitude in Denver.
“Seventy-two hundred (feet) is where you start to get affected. They’re at 52,” Zimmer said.
