Vikings re-sign Asiata
Restricted free agent running back Matt Asiata signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday.
Asiata led the Vikings with 164 carries for 570 yards and nine touchdowns and caught 44 passes as Minnesota attempted to manufacture a consistent running game without Adrian Peterson.
Peterson’s future is in limbo and Asiata is not likely to be considered a No. 1 back regardless of Peterson’s status.
Minnesota has reportedly checked in on free agent Stevan Ridley, who is coming back from a torn knee ligament.
