Vikings promote RB Banyard
The Minnesota Vikings signed running back Joe Banyard from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday and waived fullback Zach Line.
Banyard was elevated to the 53-man roster after spending the first week of the regular season on the practice squad. Banyard originally joined the Vikings as a practice squad player in 2012. He spent the final 15 weeks of the 2013 season with the Vikings, including the final three weeks on the active roster.
Banyard made his NFL debut against the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 15. He caught his first career reception on an 11-yard pass from Matt Cassel at the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 22.
