Vikings DT Johnson arrested
Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Tom Johnson is the latest NFL player to hit the police blotter.
Johnson was arrested by Minneapolis police early Sunday morning on one count of misdemeanor trespassing and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
The 30-year-old, who posted bail and was released, is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 17.
“We are aware of the matter involving Tom Johnson,” the Vikings said in a statement. “We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”
Johnson, who was signed in the offseason after playing the previous three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, has seven tackles, including two sacks and a forced fumble, in five games this season. He joins running back Adrian Peterson (reckless or negligent injury to a child) and wide receiver Jerome Simpson (possession of marijuana and driving with an open bottle) as Vikings’ players in trouble with the law recently.
