Trevor Siemian Making Progress Towards Return
Find out how Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian is progressing.
Despite having a record of (8-4), the reigning Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos find themselves all alone in third place in the AFC West. After suffering a heart-breaking defeat to division rival Kansas City at home, Denver bounced back with a 20-10 victory over the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars.
However, the Broncos did it without starting quarterback Trevor Siemian. The seventh-round draft pick suffered a foot injury against Kansas City that caused him to miss this past week’s contest. On the bright side, Siemian is out of the walking boot and he;s hopeful to make his return this week.
“I think I’m getting better every day,” Siemian said. “(I’m) trying to do some different things this week and see how it holds up. I think I’m making some headway and we’ll see how it ends up.”
In Siemian’s absence, rookie Paxton Lynch got the start and he was pedestrian to keep it modest. He completed 12 of 24 passes for 104 yards with zero touchdowns.
“If it was up to me, I’d try to be out there every day doing something,” Siemian said. “But, again, this is a day-to-day thing and that’s how we’re taking it. We’ll come in in the morning (Wednesday) and see how I’m doing and listen to Greek (head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos) and he’ll take care of me.”
With the Titans on the schedule next, it’ll be a very welcomed sign for head coach Gary Kubiak to have Siemian back under center.
