QUARTERBACKS

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints $7000

Indianapolis has given up the fourth-most passing yards in the NFL this year, and Drew Brees is on the upswing, throwing for 300+ yards in the last three games.  Andrew Luck and the Colts offense have to have a good game eventually, and Brees may even have to throw the ball more than usual in Week 7.

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers $6500

Philip Rivers is averaging 408.67 yards per game, and 2.3 touchdown passes per game over the last three weeks.  There’s absolutely nothing new here, as Rivers has been doing this for a while and it’s what we have come to expect most games from him.  I expect him to have an exciting matchup with the Raiders, who have nice young pieces on both offense and defense.  Expect Rivers to throw right around his average with over 300 yards passing and a couple of scores.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, New York Jets $5200

The Jets have a really good defense, and if they are able to limit Tom Brady in a large way, Fitzpatrick is not a good play.  But, I don’t think they are going to limit Tom Brady.  Brady is a superhero right now, and it’s going to take a special defense to slow him down.  Brady will have a solid day, meaning Fitzpatrick will have to step up when it’s his turn to put up points.  He’s thrown for two touchdowns every week but one this year, and if Chris Ivory can continue to run the ball well, Fitzpatrick will look Brandon Marshall’s way when the defense sucks in and leaves room to throw the ball.  He’s very cheap this week, and your best low price option in Week 7.

RUNNING BACKS

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings $7600

Peterson wasn’t that good last week, but he did have the most carries in the league with 26.  I don’t see the Vikings changing things up a whole lot, and not giving AD his touches.  Peterson is due for a big game, and he will have the opportunity to in a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions.  AD will go for over triple-digit yards from scrimmage and finds the end zone in Week 7.  Peterson is the third-most expensive option in Week 7, making him your best high price option.

Latavius Murray, Oakland Raiders $6100

Latavius Murray is coming off a bye week, so he will be fresh; And I expect the Raiders to have to put up big numbers to keep up with veteran Philip Rivers.  How will the Raiders go about doing that?  I expect a heavy dose of  Murray and Amari Cooper.  Murray is utilized in both the rushing and passing attack, making him a great play in Draft Kings which has a PPR format.  He’s a cheaper option if you don’t want to spend big on a running back, and also has a nice matchup against a Chargers defense that has been susceptible to the rushing attack this year.

Todd Gurley, St. Louis Rams $5000

Todd Gurley is priced once again pretty cheap, even after the Rams have featured Gurley as their best weapon on offense.  He had 19 rushing attempts in his second start back in Week 4, and 30 rushing attempts in his last game before the bye in Week 5.  He also has fresh legs, and had two weeks to prepare for the Browns.  Gurley, in his third career game being the feature back on a team, is going to absolutely go off.  I’m expecting his first rushing touchdown, maybe two, and well over 100 yards in Week 7 making him an absolute steal being only 5k.

Danny Woodhead, San Diego Chargers $4600

Woodhead would be a solid low tier wide receiver option with what he racks up catching the ball.  He’s getting around five catches per game and averaging 55 yards receiving.  It looked like Melvin Gordon took a step back in his rookie campaign last week, and with a favorable matchup against the Raiders in Week 7, I like Woodhead a lot as a super cheap running back or flex play.

DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans $8600

DeAndre Hopkins is really expensive this week, and it’s because he’s entered the category as possibly the best or at least one of the best receivers in the game.  He doesn’t have a solid quarterback option, but he’s dominant on the field regardless.  It helps him a lot that Arian Foster is getting healthier each week, because defenses cannot only focus on Hopkins.  With Odell Beckham Jr. being banged up, and Julio Jones having a tougher matchup and being more pricey, I think Hopkins is your best big money receiver in Week 7.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers $6400

Mike Evans has been a huge let down this year, and has not caught a touchdown yet in 2015.  You have to think he’s going to have a big game eventually, why not this week against the Washington Redskins.  Rookie quarterback Jameis Winston will benefit from the play-action pass they can use now that Doug Martin has showed the capability to be a threat on the ground.  Meaning Jameis will look for Evans on some deep routes in Week 7.  He’s not that expensive, and could help you win as it’s not likely a ton of people will be playing the sophomore receiver who has had unflattering results most weeks this year.

Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis Colts $5200

Donte Moncrief looks like Andrew Luck’s favorite receiver at times when watching the Colts games, and he’s been really impressive.  Where T.Y. Hilton isn’t as great in some of the intermediate routes, it seems Moncrief has been the guy Luck will look to when he has to gain 6-10 yards for first downs.  Hilton will still see his deep shots, and is a big play threat.  Moncrief looks good in every opportunity he has had this year, and has gained the confidence of a very good and young quarterback.  In a matchup where I think Drew Brees will put up points, expect Moncrief to have the opportunity for big numbers at home in Week 7.  He’s really cheap, making him a great play.

Martavis Bryant, Pittsburg Steelers $4700

Martavis Bryant was the second best receiver in scoring in Week 6.  He had two touchdowns on six catches and 137 yards.  He’s electric, and is going to see his fair share of targets the rest of the year.  Bryant is going to have Landry Jones or Ben Roethlisberger as his starting quarterback, which is better than Mike Vick.  He had that big game with Jones last week, and would have a better chance at big games if Big Ben was playing.  Bryant is still so cheap, so he should be in your lineup for Week 7.

Rob Gronkowski,  New England Patriots $7600

Same story every week here, he’s the only elite guy at his position this year.  Lots of people will play him, meaning if he goes off and he’s not on your team, you’re in a pickle.  If you save money elsewhere, slide in Rob Gronkowski as your starting tight end.

Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers $5000

Antonio Gates had a big first two weeks back.  With similar stat-lines, he has had nine catches and just over 90 yards in both contests. In Week 5, Gates had two touchdown catches, and in Week 6 he had zero.  He’s banged up so his status is worth monitoring.  If he does play, and Keenan Allen who is banged up does not play, he’s going to have a huge week since Philip Rivers will have to look his way the majority of the time.  Either way, Gates looks good and the Chargers offense is really successful with him in the lineup.  The future Hall of Famer is a great play in Week 7 against an average Raiders defense.

Benjamin Watson, New Orleans Saints $3300

Benjamin Watson is coming off back-to-back weeks with a touchdown, and his biggest game in Week 6 when he had 10 catches for 127 yards and a score.  Watson looks like Jimmy Graham 2.0 in the Saints offense, still led by old reliable Drew Brees.  If Luck and the Colts have the showing we know they are capable of, Brees will have to put up even more points, and Watson will be the red zone target.  Watson continues his high output, making him a great cheap option in Week 7 versus the Colts.

Atlanta Falcons, ATL@TEN $3300

The Falcons defense has been solid this year, and the Tennessee Titans offense has been below average.  Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense will put up big numbers, forcing Mariota to throw the ball a lot more than usual.  The Titans will turn the ball over a few times on offense, making the Falcons the safest high priced defense in Week 7.

Minnesota Vikings, MIN@DET $3000

The Vikings sport a very good defense, and already held the Lions earlier this year to just 16 points on offense.  They also held the Chargers to just 14 points, and the Chiefs to 10 points.  Save a few hundred dollars and use the Vikings in Week 7.

Saint Louis Rams, CLE@STL $2400

I don’t think the Browns are all that good.  I see that they have had good games on offense, with Josh McCown, Duke Johnson, Gary Barnidge, and Travis Benjamin having nice seasons.  But, I think the Rams sport a good enough defense to show that the Browns still have a ways to go.  I’m expecting turnovers from the Browns, with the Rams getting heavy pressure up front.  They are really cheap if you want to save the extra few hundred dollars.
