Titans put Pollard on IR, sign Ghee

Published

on

The Tennessee Titans placed safety Bernard Pollard on season-ending injured reserve and signed cornerback Brandon Ghee on Wednesday.

Pollard underwent surgery Tuesday for a ruptured Achilles tendon and will miss the remaining 11 games. He suffered the injury during Sunday’s 29-28 loss to the Cleveland Browns. It marks the first time in Pollard’s nine-year NFL career that he has landed on injured reserve.

The 6-foot-0, 200-pound Ghee has four years of NFL experience, all with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in 23 games for the Bengals and totaled seven tackles, five passes defensed and eight special teams stops during his career. He missed the entire 2012 season with wrist injury that he suffered in preseason and led to him being placed on injured reserve.

During the offseason this year, Ghee signed with the San Diego Chargers as an unrestricted free agent and was waived following training camp. He entered the NFL as a third-round selection in the 2010 draft by Cincinnati.
