Texans Part Ways With Offensive Coordinator
Find out why the Texans parted ways with offensive coordinator.
The saying ‘defense wins championships’ needs to be tweaked after watching the Houston Texans. Bill O’Brien’s ball club was the top-ranked defensive unit, yet they find themselves sitting at home with 27 other teams.
While defense is a vital key to winning a Super Bowl, you still have to put points on the board and the Texans were unable to do that on a consistent basis.
As Houston looks to fix their offensive woes, they’ve decided to mutually part ways with offensive coordinator George Godsey.
“I’m grateful for the tireless work ethic and contributions George has made to our team over the last three years,” O’Brien said in a statement released by the Texans. “I wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
This was easy to see coming, especially considering O’Brien took over playcalling duties back in Week 4.
