Texans add K Novak, cut Bullock
The Sports Xchange
A missed field goal and extra point cost kicker Randy Bullock his job with the Houston Texans.
Bullock was released Tuesday, two days after missing two close-range attempts in a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Novak won a five-player tryout Tuesday following a workout with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. The Eagles opted for Caleb Sturgis, who had been on the Texans’ invite list.
Bullock missed his second extra-point try in three games this season on Sunday, when he also failed on a 43-yard field goal try in the Texans’ 19-9 victory.
Novak replaces the third-year kicker.
He was previously with the San Diego Chargers and is 120-for-147 on field-goal attempts in his career.
