TE Gresham reportedly to visit Cardinals
The Sports Xchange
Free-agent tight end Jermaine Gresham, recovering from back surgery, reportedly will visit the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.
He also is receiving interest from the New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders, NFL Media reported Monday.
Gresham underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back in March, ruining any chance he had at receiving a lucrative contract this year. The condition was discovered during a free-agency visit.
Gresham spent his first five years with the Cincinnati Bengals, who drafted him in the first round in 2010.
Gresham caught 62 passes for 460 yards and five touchdowns with the Bengals last season. He missed the Bengals’ playoff loss at the Indianapolis Colts last season due to the back injury, which he apparently suffered in Week 17 at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Cardinals lost John Carlson to retirement and Rob Housler to the Cleveland Browns, leaving them with 2014 second-round pick Troy Niklas as their top returnign tight end.
