Steelers Rookie DBs Expect Tom Brady To Pick On Them

Published

on

While the Pittsburgh Steelers offense receives all of the headlines, it’s been Mike Tomlin’s defense that has turned the season around for the black and yellow. Ever since rookie defensive backs Artie Burns and Sean Davis were inserted into the starting lineup, things changed.

Over the past nine games, Pittsburgh has only allowed 16.6 points per game. However, they’ll be facing their biggest test when Tom Brady steps onto the field in Foxborough Sunday night.

“We know he’s not really a mobile guy, but he’s just so smart, man,” Davis said. “He’s careful with the ball. He’s got two picks over the season. So we’ve just got to be aware of what we’re doing.”

Burns understands Brady will be licking his chops when seeing two rookies in the secondary.

“That’s what he does. He’s a savvy vet. That’s what savvy vets do; they go after rookies. I’m prepared for it. It’s a challenge. I’ve just got to be ready.”

Kickoff is set for 6:40 eastern time.
