Steelers cut WR Moore
The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran wide receiver Lance Moore on Monday, a month after he asked to be let go.
Moore, a longtime New Orleans Saint, signed with the Steelers last March and caught 14 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games. He was stuck behind Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton on the depth chart and wanted to go somewhere he could play more this year.
Moore, 31, was scheduled to make $1.55 million in 2015 — part of the two-year, $3 million contract he signed last year.
He spent his first eight seasons with the Saints, catching 346 passes for 4,281 yards and 38 touchdowns.
