Source:Oakland Raiders Have Interest In Small School DB
Miles College DB Travis Lee is receiving more and more attention from NFL teams as the NFL Draft nears.
Add the Oakland Raiders as another team that will have Miles College defensive back Travis Lee in for a visit, per a source. It was reported by FootballInsiders.com earlier that both the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys have had visits with Lee.
He recently performed at Samford’s Pro Day where he elevated his overall draft stock. Per a source, the St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers have all shown interest in the smooth defensive back.
He is a long armed (32”) defender at 5-foot-11, 178 pounds and has been gaining ground on other prospects. His speed gives him the ability to cover ground quickly and enough of a physical presence to make an impact in run support. Lee really established himself at the Gridiron Classic where he held his own against receivers from Texas, Baylor and Missouri. The week helped propel him amongst plenty of small-school prospects to establish himself as a legit prospect in the eyes of NFL Scouts.
In front of roughly 15 NFL Scouts he ran an impressive 4.47 40-yard dash outside in uninviting conditions. The weather did not cooperate, but Lee as well as the other prospects fought through the less than desirable conditions to forge through the drills. Lee had six interceptions for 37 yards along with seven pass break-ups in 2014. He also has 30 total tackles on the season.
