Source: St. Louis Rams Bringing in O-Line Prospect
Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams are going to take a closer look at massive Louisville OT Jamon Brown.
Per a source, Louisville offensive tackle Jamon Brown has an up-coming visit with the St. Louis Rams. It should not come as a surprise since one of the Rams biggest off-season needs is addressing the positions up front on offense. The Rams lost tackle Mike Person to the Atlanta Falcons via free agency. Three other offensive linemen from last season that include Jake Long, Joe Barksdale and Davin Joseph all currently remain free agents.
Brown is a massive man (6-foot-4, 324 pounds) who is physically dominating to opposing defensive linemen. It is worth mentioning that head coach Jeff Fisher prefers bigger guys up-front playing in the interior. Heading into last season the Rams had five players that weighed more the 320-pounds on the offensive line. In comparison, for example the Houston Texans had one offensive lineman weigh over 310 last season. Offensive schemes dictate what coaches want and Brown definitely fits the criteria of how St. Louis likes their offensive linemen to look and play.
Brown (per source) also had workouts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans. He made an easy transition from the right tackle position to the left side at Louisville proving he can stonewall defensive ends at the point of attack. Brown is quick off the ball and gets to the second level to block.
