Source: Philadelphia Eagles Host Offensive Tackle
NFL Draft Prospect Terry Poole busy making NFL visits
Per a source, San Diego State offensive tackle Terry Poole has been worked out by both the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals. Poole is scheduled to visit the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Poole has the versatility to play guard or (right) tackle in the NFL and spent his senior season with the Aztecs’ playing left tackle. Invited to the East-West Shrine Game and NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-5 and 307 pound second team All-Mountain West selection displays good feet and power.
The Eagles are in the market for offensive linemen considering the current status of their roster. Philadelphia’s first draft choice with Chip Kelly as head coach was for former Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson. Also, it is worth mentioning that Johnson, the fourth-overall pick in the 2013 draft, missed the first four games after testing positive for banned performance-enhancing drugs. Add in the fact that the offensive line has two starters playing in their 10th NFL season (Jason Peters, Evan Mathis) and Todd Herremans departing free agency to the Indianapolis Colts sheds light on a position that needs some touch up paint.
