Denver Broncos taking a look at Northwestern QB Trevor Siemian

Published

on

Per a source, the Denver Broncos will bring in a young arm to scout on April 2nd.  Northwestern quarterback Trevor Siemian will make a pre-draft visit to Denver. The 2014 team co-captain started 11 games before suffering a season-ending injury (ACL) against Purdue on November 11th.

Even though Siemian started only 14 games for the Wildcats, but he ranks fourth all-time in school history with 5,931 passing yards. Northwestern uses an innovative spread offense, stretching the field side-to-side. Siemian possesses adequate arm strength and size (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) for the NFL. His overall ability to read a defense that include pre-snap, and locating secondary receivers will be a key to his NFL success at getting an opportunity in the NFL.

The Broncos’ roster of quarterbacks include future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning with second-string Brock Osweiler (second round pick 2012) possibly waiting in the rings for Manning’s nearing departure from the NFL. Third string quarterback Zac Dysert was drafted in the seventh round (2013).
