Source: Alabama S Jarrick Williams To Workout for New England Patriots
Amongst a crowded secondary at Alabama another NFL Draft Prospect is getting attention from an NFL team.
Per a source, former Alabama defensive back Jarrick Williams is scheduled to have a private workout with the New England Patriots. Williams was ranked No. 5 nationally leaving high school and spent five years with the Crimson Tide. His size (6-foot-1, 215 pounds) and range make him an intriguing prospect. Williams played in a deep secondary that includes 2015 NFL Draft Prospect Landon Collins (first-round grade) and also Nick Perry (seventh-round grade).
Over the last three NFL Draft’s (2012-14), Alabama has had a safety or defensive back drafted in the first round which includes Mark Barron (2012), Dre Kirkpatrick (2012), Dee Milliner (2013), and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (2014). Williams is well-versed at safety, nickel back and special teams. Williams finished his career with unspectacular stats (60 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack), but it is his game tape and overall ability that is attracting attention from NFL teams.
Currently, the Patriots have recently resigned safety Devin McCourty to remain in New England along with Patrick Chung. The pair is penciled in as their starters for 2015.
