Simmons: Romo Has Four Years Left

Published

on

Tony Romo is already making the rounds this offseason, and a recent stop included Bill Simmons, Cousin Sal and a hint at how long he might have left in his tank. On Monday, Simmons had Cousin Sal on his podcast and the two spoke about how they spent a Saturday night with Romo in Los Angeles. “I actually felt bad for him listening to him talk about this season,” Simmons said. “He really felt like Dallas was one of the best teams and he was like, ‘we got screwed, and I got hurt, and we should be here, and we could’ve played with these teams.’ ” But the most interesting nugget came near the end of Simmons’ and Sal’s conversation with Romo, when the quarterback gave them a hint of how long his career might go on. It went like this: Simmons: “I look forward to the bidding war for Romo, because there is a 100 percent chance – I don’t know though. If I were him I don’t know whether I’d want to do games or studio. I think I would want to do games.” Cousin Sal: “What are we talking about? He has four years left. He’s going to win a Super Bowl. Don’t worry about this.” Simmons: “He said that. He said he has at least four.”
