Seahawks’ Wilson to visit Rangers again
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will visit the Texas Rangers’ spring training camp again this year, stopping by on March 28 for an exhibition game against the San Diego Padres.
Wilson, a former minor league baseball player who went on to become a Super Bowl winning quarterback, also joined the Rangers early in spring training a year ago.
“He’s done something all our players aspire to do,” Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. “He’s won a world championship. When you can bring in a world-class-caliber athlete like that, it is a big deal.”
Wilson spent parts of two seasons in the minor leagues and compiled a .229 batting average with five home runs and 26 RBIs at the Class A level.
