Seahawks LT Okung sustains chest injury
Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung was diagnosed with a bruised chest wall after getting hurt Sunday in Seattle’s 17-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Okung was injured on the final play of the first half, and Fox’s television broadcast showed him shoving aside a trainer who approached him as Okung was spitting up blood. Okung then continued walking toward the locker room.
“He has a chest wall bruise, but I’m not sure what all of that means,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said postgame. “They checked him out (at a hospital), and he was released. We’ll let you know in a couple of days what’s going on with that.”
Alvin Bailey filled in for Okung in the second half.
