Seahawks add WR Matthews
The Seattle Seahawks waited all week to fill the 53rd spot on their roster, finally signing wide receiver Chris Matthews off the practice squad.
The Seahawks had a roster spot available because defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy failed a physical after being claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts last weekend.
Matthews, 6 feet 5 and 219 pounds, was signed from the CFL in February and had bounced off and on the practice squad several times this season. This is his first time on the 53-man roster.
Seattle has seven receivers this week as it prepares to play the Eagles in Philadelphia.
