Sapp charged with domestic violence
The Sports Xchange
Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp is facing three counts of domestic violence in Las Vegas after an April incident involving his girlfriend.
Sapp is accused of biting Chalyce Moore and stomping on her head while the two were at the M Resort on April 28, according to a police report acquired by TMZ.
Other details in the police report include Sapp throwing a margarita at Moore during an argument at the resort. After the two left to go to Moore’s condo, Moore said Sapp bit her middle finger in the car and then stepped on her face after the two reached the condo.
Moore sustrained injuries that included bruising on her shoulders, legs, face and lower lip, according to a friend that spoke with authorities.
Sapp is scheduled for a court appearance on July 23. If convicted on the charges, he could face up to 18 months in jail.
A month ago, Sapp reached a plea deal stemming from a case in February when he was arrested after soliciting a prostitute and charged with two counts of assault. The NFL Network subsequently dismissed Sapp from his job.
The plea deal in May called for Sapp to plead guilty to one count of solicitation and one count of assault. He also must complete a prostitution solicitation diversion program and an anger management course.
