Saints release LB Haralson, 21 others

The New Orleans Saints reached the 53-player roster limit Saturday by cutting veteran linebacker Parys Haralson, wide receivers Joe Morgan and Josh Morgan and tight end Alex Smith, among 22 moves.

The team also waived quarterback Ryan Griffin; running backs Edwin Baker and Toben Opurum; wide receiver Seantavius Jones; tight ends Orson Charles and Chris Manhertz; offensive linemen Bryce Harris, Nick Becton, Mike Golic, Sean Hickey and Cyril Lemon; kicker Dustin Hopkins; linebackers Justin Anderson, Henry Coley, Jerry Franklin; and defensive backs Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Sammy Seamster and defensive back Pierre Warren.

Stanley Jean-Baptiste was a second-round pick in 2014.

Charles is suspended for Week 1 due to a violation of the NFL conduct policy.
