S Godfrey joins Falcons
Veteran safety Charles Godfrey signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday.
Godfrey was released a week ago by Carolina after seven seasons with the Panthers. To make room on the roster for Godfrey, the Falcons waived safety Sean Baker.
Godfrey started 75 games for the Panthers and had 11 interceptions and 372 tackles, three sacks and 33 passes defenses. He played in seven games and started one for Carolina this season before he was released.
Baker started the season on the Falcons’ practice squad and was signed to the active roster on Sept. 30. He had no tackles in four games.
