Richie Incognito: “I Want To Fight For Rex”

Find out what Richie Incognito had to say about Rex Ryan.

When the Buffalo Bills hired Rex Ryan in January of 2015, the expectation was that he would lead them to their first playoff berth this century. Last year, they were mediocre at (8-8) and with them sitting with a (6-7) record now, it’s likely they’ll miss out on the postseason yet again.

Amidst the failure to reach expectations, there have been rumblings about the potential firing of Ryan following the season. Ryan is aware of the chatter and so are the players.

Veteran guard Richie Incognito voiced his take on the matter.

“For me, I want to fight for Rex,” guard Richie Incognito said Wednesday. “I want to go out there and get wins and keep him around here. … For me, personally, it’s like a challenge. The challenge has been accepted. There’s this bad sentiment out there. And if it’s true or not, I can directly impact the outcome and that’s by playing well and playing on a consistent basis and leading this team.”

Step one in the process of making sure Ryan’s job is safe is to defeat the winless Cleveland Browns this week.
