Rex Ryan Takes Blame For 10-Men On Field
See what Rex Ryan had to say about having 10 men on the field.
Before Saturday’s heartbreaking 34-31 loss to the Miami Dolphins, the writing appeared to be on the wall for Bills head coach Rex Ryan. With the playoffs out of the picture yet again for this franchise, the rumblings of Ryan’s eventual firing continued to get louder and louder.
However, if there was any chance for Rex to save his job, it probably went down the drain once Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi galloped for 57 yards, putting Miami in field goal range to seal the deal. The fact Ajayi ran for 57 yards isn’t the problem, the issue is Buffalo only had 10 men on the field.
“That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen and it should never happen but it did happen,” he said. “And it cost us the game. That’s how I’ll look at it.”
This type of mistake is something you expect to see at the high school level, not in professional football and unfortunately, it may be the last moment Ryan is remembered by as head coach of the Bills.
“Well, I hope it isn’t, but if it is, it’s something I’ll have to live with.”
Buffalo will end their season against the New York Jets this Sunday.
