Reports: Raiders fire Allen
The Oakland Raiders have fired head coach Dennis Allen, according to multiple reports.
Assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tony Sparano or offensive coordinator Greg Olson are the likely replacements to take over as head coach.
Allen’s contract ran through the 2015 season.
The final straw for Allen might just have been the Raiders’ 38-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in London. That dropped their season record to 0-4. They have lost 10 straight games as they head into their bye week.
Following Sunday’s game, Allen did not care to address reports that team owner Mark Davis was ready to let him go.
“Yeah, that’s, that’s not my concern right now,” Allen said.
The Raiders are 32nd in the NFL in total offense, and they lost rookie quarterback Derek Carr to a sprained knee ligament and high ankle sprain.
Allen was also asked if the Raiders have lost faith.
“No, I don’t think so,” Allen said. “I think that we got to continue to keep working and, again, we got a lot of things we got to look at this bye week and see what we can do to get better.”
Allen is 8-27 as head coach in Oakland. He was hired after a successful stint as the Denver Broncos’ defensive coordinator.
