Reports: FSU’s Williams arrested for DUI
The Sports Xchange
Cornerback P.J. Williams, a top NFL draft prospect out of Florida State, reportedly was arrested early Friday morning for driving under the influence.
The arrest occurred in Leon County, Fla., at just after 3 a.m., according to Albert Breer and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He reportedly was released on a $500 bond.
It’s the second traffic incident for Williams in the past six months. In October, he was cited for failure to yield and driving with a suspended license after the car he was driving hit another. He avoided a hit-and-run charge when he eventually returned to the scene.
The arrest Friday came three days after Williams’ Pro Day at Florida State and figures to impact his draft stock — he was considered a possible late first-round pick.
Williams was defensive MVP of the 2014 BCS championship game as a sophomore.
As a junior, he recorded 60 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and a sack as the Seminoles played in the first College Football Playoff.
