Reports: Bucs QB McCown out several weeks
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown will miss several weeks with a thumb injury, according to Fox Sports.
McCown was injured in the first quarter of Thursday night’s 56-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He hit the thumb on a Falcons defensive player after throwing a pass.
Mike Glennon is expected to start at quarterback while McCown is out.
The Falcons next game is Sept. 28 at the Pittsburgh Steelers. McCown could also miss the Oct. 5 game against the New Orleans Saints. The results of an MRI will determine how long he will be sidelined.
In three starts this season, McCown has completed 63 percent of his passes and thrown for 420 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.
