Report: Vikings RT Loadholt out for season
The Sports Xchange
Minnesota Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt reportedly suffered a season-ending Achilles injury Saturday night.
Loadholt fell to the ground on the second play of the Vikgins’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was carted off. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, he suffered a torn Achilles tendon.
Loadholt, considered one of the NFL’s better run-blocking tackles, missed the final five games of the 2014 season with a torn pectoral muscle.
Rookie fourth-round pick T.J. Clemmings replaced Loadholt against the Buccaneers and is expected to be the favorite to replace him in the starting lineup.
