Report: Redskins’ Kerrigan has knee scoped
The Sports Xchange
Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss at least part of the team’s Organized Team Activities, according to a report Wednesday.
The procedure is not considered serious, but it’s uncertain how long Kerrigan will be sidelined, CSNWashington.com reported. He has been bothered by soreness in the knee.
Kerrigan, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has not missed a game during his four-year career. Last year, he registered a career-best 13 1/2 sacks and five forced fumbles and also was credited with 51 quarterback hurries, according to ProFootballFocus.com.
The 26-year-old Kerrigan is entering the final year of rookie deal and the team has begun negotiations with him on a new contract.
The Redskins start OTAs next Tuesday and their mandatory minicamp on June 16 in Ashburn, Va.
