Report: McCoy, Bills agree to 5-year deal

Published

on

The Buffalo Bills and running back LeSean McCoy have agreed to a five-year contract. The deal includes $26.5 million in guaranteed money, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ProFootballTalk.com.

The deal will start once McCoy is officially traded to the Bills by the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. The deal will add two years to McCoy’s existing contract, and includes an increase in base salary for 2015 from $10 million to $16 million. He will earn $21.05 million over the next two years.

The Eagles agreed last week to trade McCoy to the Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso. However, it cannot become official until the NFL’s new league year begins Tuesday.

McCoy is third in the NFL with 6,792 rushing yards since being drafted in the second round in 2009, and has the fourth-most rushing touchdowns with 44. He rushed for 1,319 yards last season.

With the arrival of McCoy, the Bills will part ways with former first-round pick C.J. Spiller, who will hit free agency Tuesday.
