Report: Lynch can’t wear gold cleats
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has had his difficulties with NFL rules, and apparently the league is thwarting something else he wanted to do.
Lynch planned to wear gold cleats for Sunday’s NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers. But the NFL found out about Lynch’s plan and made it known that he would be ejected from the game if he wore those gold cleats, according to a Fox Sports report.
Later, according to the report, the league modified its position a bit. Instead of ejecting Lynch if he wore the illegal cleats, he would simply not be allowed to play with those shoes. When he removed the gold cleats and put on legal shoes, he would be allowed to participate in the game.
In the past, the NFL has allowed players to wear shoes that don’t conform to the rules, then fined them afterward.
