Report: Lions hire Marciano as special teams coordinator
The Detroit Lions reached an agreement to hire Joe Marciano as their next special teams coordinator, SI.com reported Saturday.
Marciano served as special teams coordinator for the Houston Texans from 2002 to 2013. He spent last season assisting the Minnesota Vikings with their special teams.
Marciano, 60, will replace John Bonamego, who finalized a deal to become the next Central Michigan coach on Friday and is expected to be introduced next week.
Marciano also was the special teams coordinator at Tampa Bay (1996-2001), New Orleans (1986-95) and Philadelphia (1983-85).
