The New York Jets were hit with a $100,000 tampering fine from the NFL for owner Woody Johnson’s comments about cornerback Darrelle Revis, according to a report.

Revis, who became a free agent after spending last season with the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, signed with the Jets last month.

The New York Daily News on Tuesday reported the fine but also indicated that the Jets would not lose any draft picks as part of the league’s discipline.

At a press conference during the season while Revis was with New England, Johnson said, “I’d love for Darrelle to come back.” The Patriots filed tampering charges with the league over Johnson’s remarks.

After helping the Patriots win the Super Bowl, Revis became a free agent when New England declined his $20 million option for 2015. Revis then signed a five-year, $70 million deal with the Jets, his former team.

Revis, considered one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, was previously with the Jets from 2007 through 2012 before he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After one season with the Bucs, Revis signed a two-year, $32 million contract with the Patriots in March 2014.
