Report: Giants will sign WR Jones
The Sports Xchange
The New York Giants reportedly will sign wide receiver James Jones to a one-year deal.
Jones told CSNBayArea.com that he will arrive in New York on Friday.
Jones, 31, led the Oakland Raiders with a career-best 73 receptions last season, but the Raiders released him in May after signing former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree and drafting Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper with the fourth overall pick.
Jones had signed a three-year, $10 million deal with the Raiders last year after seven years with the Green Bay Packers.
Jones led the NFL with 14 touchdown receptions in 2012 and has averaged 48 catches, 620 yards and five scores per year.
