Report: Falcons sign OG Chester
The Sports Xchange
The Atlanta Falcons signed free agent offensive guard Chris Chester to a one-year, $2.8 million contract, according to ESPN.com.
Chester, 32, was released by the Washington Redskins on Wednesday after 64 starts at right guard. He signed with Washington in 2011 after five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, who drafted him in the second round in 2006.
Chester will be reunited with Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan when both were in Washington.
The Falcons had room on their offseason depth chart after releasing linebacker Prince Shembo on Friday. Shembo was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals in connection with the death of a former girlfriend’s dog.
