Report: Colts working on Luck megadeal
The Indianapolis Colts are working on a blockbuster deal for quarterback Andrew Luck, ESPN.com reported Sunday.
According to the report, the deal when completed is expected to make Luck the highest-paid player in the game at a figure that could be around $25 million per year.
Luck, who is one year away from finishing his rookie deal, and the Colts have been holding conversations, but no agreement can be finalized until the start of the new league year on March 10.
In his third season, Luck has taken the Colts to the AFC Championship Game on Sunday in Foxborough, Mass., to face the New England Patriots.
Luck completed 27 of 43 passes for 265 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions, in last Sunday’s 24-13 win over the Denver Broncos in the divisional game.
For the regular season, Luck has passed for 4,761 yards and 40 touchdowns with 16 interceptions.
