Report: CB Waynes, Vikings reach contract agreement
The Sports Xchange
Cornerback Trae Waynes agreed to a four-year contract that includes a fifth-year option with the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
Waynes was the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, who begin their rookie minicamp on Friday.
As the first cornerback selected in the draft, Waynes is expected to make an immediate impact with the Vikings, potentially starting opposite cornerback Xavier Rhodes, a first-round draft pick in 2013.
Waynes started 27 games at Michigan State and finished his college career with six interceptions.
Various reports also indicated that linebacker Erik Kendricks, picked in the second round from UCLA, and offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson, drafted in the sixth round last Saturday, signed with the Vikings.
