Report: Carroll’s other son joins Seahawks, too
Brennan Carroll reportedly is leaving the University of Miami to join the Seattle Seahawks, coached by his father, Pete Carroll.
The move, reported by the Sun Sentinel on Monday, also would reunite Brennan with his brother, Nate, who is an offensive assistant with the Seahawks. Brennan Carroll also is expected to be an offensive assistant in Seattle, the Sun Sentinel reported.
Brennan Carroll coached under his father at USC from 2002 to 2009 and was hired in 2011 by Miami, where he has coached tight ends and wide receivers and coordinated recruiting.
The Seahawks last week lost three defensive assistants and are expected to promote Kris Richard from secondary coach to defensive coordinator, replacing Dan Quinn.
Pete Carroll also needs a new linebackers coach after Ken Norton Jr. joined the Oakland Raiders as their new defensive coordinator. The Seahawks also lost defensive assistant Marquand Manuel, who joined Quinn’s staff in Atlanta.
