Report: Cardinals go back to Lindley at QB
After Ryan Lindley’s dismal showing last week, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians decided to turn to Logan Thomas at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. But those plans apparently changed.
Arians is going back to Lindley as the starter, The Arizona Republic reported Thursday.
Lindley has not thrown for a touchdown in 225 career pass attempts but has been intercepted eight times. He completed just 40.7 percent of his passes (22 of 54 for 246 yards and one interception) last week in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Thomas, a rookie fourth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, is considered a project and looked shaky during practice, the Republic reported.
The Cardinals (11-4) have already clinched an NFC playoff spot and are hoping that quarterback Drew Stanton returns from a right knee injury for the postseason. Arians said this week that Stanton’s chances to be back for the playoffs are about 85 percent.
