Tensions between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots coaching staff may result in the quarterback finishing his career with another team, according to ESPN.

Two sources told ESPN that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was drafted to be Brady’s successor and that the move could happen soon.

Brady is reportedly frustrated because of the downsizing of the Patriots offense, which stems from questionable personnel decisions and longtime offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia retiring after last season.

Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins was traded before the season and the line is now coached by an inexperienced Dave DeGuglielmo. Also, Brady has had reduced input into game plans, personnel groups and pre-snap adjustments.

One team source told ESPN that the team needs to take a conservative and patient approach while adjustments are made. Another source said the team has internally discussed Brady’s declining performance.

Brady’s confidence has also been affected by the circumstances surrounding the team and a source said that the Patriots do not have the personnel to run their previously successful but complex scheme.

The Patriots have also lacked success in the draft in recent years. They have used 11 draft picks on wide receivers since 2002 and only Deion Branch and Julian Edelman have had success. Also, the signing of Danny Amendola as a slot receiver to replace Wes Welker, now with the Denver Broncos, has not worked out.

Brady has said that he would like to play for at least four or five more years, but sources said that he may end his career with another team unless owner Robert Kraft intervenes on his behalf.
