Redskins TE Reed dealing with multiple injuries
The Sports Xchange
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is in the NFL’s concussion protocol and also has a knee injury.
Reed suffered a concussion during Sunday’s victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He also was diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee.
Reed has experienced concussion issues in the past. He missed the final six games in 2013 due to two concussions in a three-week span.
He will need to clear the protocol to play in this Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
“It’s a concern,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden told reporters. “The level, these things are all different. Each player and the magnitude of the concussions, you just don’t know until they go through the protocol and get tested and all of the necessary steps. I don’t know the severity of it at all.”
Reed has caught 24 passes for 278 yards over the first four games.
