“The Washington Redskins are prepared to move forward with Robert Griffin III for now at least. In order for him to be successful, the Redskins must find a way to protect him. Brandon Scherff is the best offensive linemen in the draft. He’s an outstanding 6-foot-5, 319 pounds. Considering that brute size and his terrific use of hands, it’s very difficult to move him at the line of scrimmage. Scherff is also pretty athletic for his size.”- Mark Gunnels

“Our first shocker! I can’t believe Washington also passed on Leonard Williams. Did I miss something coming out about his character in the last couple days that all these teams know about? It’s a good pick for the Redskins who have a lot of needs. They certainly had to upgrade the offensive line at some point to keep Robert Griffin III from getting killed and improve their running game immediately. No matter if he stays at tackle or moves inside to guard, Brandon Scherff is a sure-fire upgrade to Washington’s front five. This, to me, is a reinvestment in RGIII and keeping him on the field more than anything else. Good move in that respect.” – Devon Jeffreys
